Bright and early next morning, Princess Daisy was having breakfast with her parents. Her train would leave at 9:00 o’clock A.M. The trip would take 3 hours, so she’d most likely be on the Mushroom Kingdom at noon.

The kitchen table was silent. Richard seemed to be a little more convinced about Luigi, but not much. He kept looking at his daughter as if he wanted to say something, but couldn’t find the words. Lillian, however, wore a small smile on her face. Sure, she would miss her daughter, but she would be with friends, and the one man she truly loves. Only one thing kept her from being completely calm and happy: Richard’s attitude. If only he would understand.

Daisy was very happy, because she would be seeing her best friend Peach, her best friend Mario, Toad, Toadsworth and especially Luigi. She had slept pleasantly the night before and her energy and excitement seemed to leap right out of her.

When they finished, Daisy rushed upstairs to quickly fix her hair and get her bags. Everyone got inside the car; a Toad would be driving it, and headed for Grand Shroom Station. After arriving there 15 minutes later, Daisy hurried over to the usher and gave him her ticket. He tried flirting with her, but Richard shot him a look as if wanting to burn him to ashes were he stood. Daisy rolled her eyes and walked along to find her seat. She waved goodbye at her parents and noticed her father smiling! Yes, smiling. This stunned her in a good way. She smiled back, settled herself in her seat and continued smiling. 3 hours seemed like nothing compared to when she encountered with Luigi and her friends.

In the Mushroom Kingdom, back at Peach’s castle, our trio had finished breakfast and was chatting in the living room. Luigi wasn’t wearing his usual overalls and hat, but a nice green shirt, his best jeans and black tennis shoes. Mario was dressed similarly, but wore a red shirt; Peach also wore jeans, a pink top and pink platform shoes.

About 1O minutes later, the front doors opened, and in came Toad and Toadsworth. Mario, Luigi and Peach were surprised but pleased to see them. Toad smiled widely in sight of his two idols: the Mario Bros. He rushed over to them, slapping high fives and greeting them. Peach hugged him and Toad smiled in return.

Toadsworth, however, approached Mario and Luigi slowly; he shook their hands and addressed them as ‘Master Mario’ and ‘Master Luigi.’ He did hug Peach and asked her how she had been. Peach answered fine and all five of them walked back to the living room.

“So, Toad, tell us. Where were you and Toadsworth?” Mario asked as they had finally settled on the couches. Toad answered proudly: “We were on a business trip on Gelato Beach. Toadsworth wants to build a hotel there, and he needed to discuss the property issues with the owner. I presented the blueprint of it and the price it would take to build it.” Mario was surprised; however, he was also pleased that they could finally go to Gelato Beach for vacation and have a place to stay.

“Wow. So did he say yes?” Luigi asked curiously. “Of course he did! He said he would discuss everything with his lawyer, and he’ll be in touch!” Toad answered excitedly. They all kept talking and sharing experiences with one another; in fact, they lost track of time. It wasn’t until Toadsworth came in the living room and asked for silence that Luigi remembered Daisy. “Ahem. I have just been informed that Masters Mario and Luigi, and Princess Peach have to go to the Grand Shroom Station and pick up Princess Daisy.” Peach and Mario had already remembered, so they got up, said thanks to Toadsworth, and rushed outside.

Just when they were getting in the car, Toad rushed over to them, panting. “Hey guys, wait up! Toadsworth said I could come…” Peach smiled and motioned Toad to get in. He ran and jumped in just in the nick of time. The whole way to the Station, the only person that was in Luigi’s mind was Daisy.
